For bakeries & patisseries , The counter stamp card, finally on the phone

Your regulars come every day, sometimes twice. Paper cards get lost, crumpled or left in another coat. With Quardy, the card lives in your customers' Wallet, and you add the stamp with a quick scan while handing back the change.

Why bakeries are made for loyalty cards

No shop sees its customers as often as a bakery: the morning loaf, the lunchtime sandwich, the Sunday pastries. The basket is small but the frequency is huge, and that is exactly what a stamp card rewards. The idea was never the problem, the paper was: forgotten cards, stamps nobody can find, and no way of knowing who comes back.

  1. Daily visits

A regular can come 15 to 25 times a month. A 10-stamp card fills up in two weeks.

  2. A busy counter

In the morning every second counts. Scanning a phone is faster than an ink stamp.

  3. No more lost cards

The card sits in the Wallet next to the bank card. Customers always have it on them.

Which type of loyalty to choose?

For a bakery, stamps remain the best choice: it is the system your customers already know from the paper card, and it needs no explanation. The only real choice is what you count: every visit, or a specific product.

Quardy recommendation for bakeries

Stamps: 10 visits = 1 free pastry or loaf

One stamp per visit, whatever the amount: simple at the counter, and it rewards your regulars, who are your real customer base. The reward should cost little in ingredients and give real pleasure: a croissant, a sourdough loaf, a slice of tart.

Example: Karim buys his baguette every morning and a sandwich two lunchtimes a week. He fills his card in under two weeks and gets his free croissant. For you, the reward costs a few cents of ingredients, on a customer who spends dozens of euros a month with you. And he does not go to the bakery across the street, because his card is with you.

Alternative: a cashback pot for the patisserie counter

If you sell lots of cakes and desserts with varying prices, the cashback pot is fairer: a percentage of each purchase is set aside in euros and the customer spends it on a later purchase. It rewards the big weekend order as much as the morning coffee.

How it works in your bakery

  1. The QR code by the till

Stick the Quardy poster (generated in the app) on the counter display or next to the card terminal. Customers see it while their order is being prepared.
  2. Added to the Wallet in 30 seconds

The customer scans it with their phone camera and adds the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. No app to download, no account to create.
  3. A scan while taking payment

The customer shows their card, you scan it with your phone or a tablet on the counter, and the stamp is added. A few seconds, even with the morning queue.
  4. The reward shows up on its own

At the tenth stamp the app tells you: you hand over the reward and the card starts a new round.

Bonus: tell your regulars (Pro plan)

With the Pro plan at €9.99/month, you can send a message to customers who agreed to it, straight on their Wallet card or as a notification. Ideas for a bakery:

  • Seasonal specials: "Hot cross buns are back from Friday"
  • Today's bake: "Walnut and fig loaf this Saturday, limited batch"
  • Holidays: "Pre-order your Christmas cake before the 20th"
  • Closures: "Closed 10 to 24 August, back on the 25th"
  • Customers away for 30 days: a ready-made audience to win back those who stopped coming

Frequently asked questions

Some older customers don't have a smartphone. Do I keep paper cards?

You can run both during the transition: paper for those without a smartphone, Quardy for everyone else. Most of your regulars already have a phone with Apple Wallet or Google Wallet built in. Our paper vs digital loyalty card comparison covers the switch.

Will it slow down the morning rush?

No. The scan takes a few seconds, less than finding the ink stamp and the next box. Many bakers keep a tablet or an old phone next to the till to scan without taking out their own.

Do I need compatible till software?

No. Quardy does not connect to any till: it runs alongside, from a smartphone or tablet. You take payment as usual, in cash or by card.

Can my staff scan cards?

On the free and Pro plans, cards are scanned from the owner's account (a phone or tablet left on the counter is enough). To give each member of staff their own access, with every visit logged in their name, switch to the Business plan at €24.99/month.

How much does it cost?

Free up to 50 customers, with every loyalty feature. Beyond that, the Pro plan is €9.99/month, no commitment, with unlimited customers, messages, gift cards and customer export.

Can I add my logo and colours?

Yes, for free: your logo, any colour, the text colour and a line on the card, for example "10 visits = 1 free croissant". With the Pro plan you can also put a photo of your bread as the card background.
