Top 10 best free loyalty card apps in 2026

Ranked by how complete their free plan is: 1. Quardy (Apple and Google Wallet card with your logo, stamps, points or cashback, up to 50 customers), 2. Passtastic (Wallet card, free entry tier), 3. SumUp Local (free, tied to SumUp card payments), 4. FaveCard (unlimited, no Wallet), 5. Loyverse (tied to its till), then five tools with a free trial: Loopy Loyalty, Perkstar, Stamp Me, Square Loyalty and Hey Pongo.

How this ranking was made

We make Quardy, and it is in this ranking. To keep it useful, each tool is judged on one criterion: what its free plan really lets an independent shop do, checked on its official website between August and October 2026:

  • does the card go into Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with no app for the customer?
  • can it carry your logo and colours?
  • which loyalty types: stamps, points, cashback?
  • how many customers before you pay?
  • do you need specific hardware or a till?

Tools that only offer a trial close the ranking. Unlimited plans are not ranked first by default: for most shops, unlimited customers on a generic card are worth less than a complete card with a cap.

1. Quardy: the most complete free card

What’s free: the card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with no app or account for the customer; your logo, any colour and a custom line on the card; stamps, points or cashback; a printable QR code poster; the dashboard. No hardware: the merchant scans cards with their phone.

The limit: 50 customers. They stay active with no time limit; to welcome more, Pro costs €9.99/month and adds targeted messages (new customers, not seen for 30 or 60 days), gift cards in the Wallet with no commission, and customer export.

Who it’s for: shops that want a real card in their own image from day one, and a low price if they grow. Less suited if you plan to go past 50 customers without ever paying.

2. Passtastic: a Wallet card with a free entry tier

What’s free: an entry tier with a card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.

The limit: the full feature set (VIP tiers, coupons, memberships) is on paid plans, from $39/month per site.

Who it’s for: shops ready to move to a paid plan quickly. Quardy vs Passtastic

3. SumUp Local: free if you already take payments with SumUp

What’s free: a points or stamps programme managed from the SumUp dashboard, at no extra cost.

The limit: rewards are triggered by card payments taken with SumUp, and customers must install the SumUp Local app and register their bank card. No Wallet card in your name.

Who it’s for: shops that already use a SumUp terminal and whose customers mostly pay by card.

4. FaveCard: unlimited, outside the Wallet

What’s free: a stamp card, unlimited customers.

The limit: no Apple Wallet or Google Wallet on the free plan: they come with Pro, from €12/month in France ($19 in the US).

Who it’s for: shops for whom a card opened in the browser is enough. Quardy vs FaveCard

5. Loyverse: loyalty from a till system

What’s free: a till system with a built-in loyalty module.

The limit: you have to adopt their till to take payments; customers have no card in their Wallet, their balance shows on the receipt.

Who it’s for: shops that are also changing their till. Quardy vs Loyverse

6. Loopy Loyalty: a free trial, then unlimited customers

What’s free: a 15-day trial, with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet cards.

The limit: no lasting free plan; a card is needed to go live. Then $25/month (Starter, 1 card design, 1 location), $69 (Growth) or $95 (Ultimate), all with unlimited customers.

Who it’s for: shops ready to pay from the start for unlimited customers.

7. Perkstar: a free trial, then eight card types

What’s free: a 14-day trial, no credit card.

The limit: no lasting free plan; from £12/month on annual billing.

Who it’s for: UK shops that want many card types (stamps, membership, coupons, gift cards). Quardy vs Perkstar

8. Stamp Me: a free trial, with an app for customers

What’s free: a 30-day trial, starting when you publish your first card.

The limit: customers use the Stamp Me app; then from $49, £39 or €29/month (Lite), up to $199 (Elite).

Who it’s for: shops that want games and birthday clubs and accept a customer app. Quardy vs Stamp Me

9. Square Loyalty: a free trial, for Square users

What’s free: a 30-day trial.

The limit: it runs on the Square till; then a monthly price based on loyalty visits (from €39 + VAT a month in Ireland, for example).

Who it’s for: shops that already take payments with Square.

10. Hey Pongo: a full marketing platform for restaurants

What’s free: a demo.

The limit: prices are not published on their website.

Who it’s for: restaurants and chains that want CRM, SMS and till integrations. Quardy vs Pongo

What about the paper card?

The paper card is almost free to print, but it gets lost or forgotten, it’s easy to fake, and it gives you no data on your customers.

How to choose

  1. Should the card be in the Wallet? That’s what saves customers from installing an app. If so, rule out SumUp Local, free FaveCard, Loyverse and Stamp Me.
  2. Free forever or free to try? Tools 6 to 10 are only free during a trial.
  3. Does your logo matter? A card in your image is recognised in the phone; a generic card is forgotten.
  4. How many customers in a year? Under 50, a complete free plan is enough. Above that, compare the price of the paid plan, not just the free one.
  5. Can you leave? Check customer export before you start.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free loyalty card app?

For a complete card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, with your logo and stamps, points or cashback, Quardy (free up to 50 customers). For unlimited customers without the Wallet, FaveCard. If you already take payments with SumUp, SumUp Local.

Is there a free, unlimited loyalty card?

Yes: FaveCard and SumUp Local have no customer cap. The trade-off: no Wallet card on FaveCard's free plan, and SumUp card payments plus a customer app for SumUp Local.

How was this ranking made?

On one criterion: what the free plan really lets an independent shop do (Wallet card, branding, loyalty types, number of customers, no required hardware or till). Prices were taken from the official websites between August and October 2026. We make Quardy: we say so, and Quardy's limits are listed too.

Do my customers need to install an app?

Not with Wallet-based tools such as Quardy and Passtastic: customers add the card to their phone by scanning a QR code. SumUp Local, however, asks customers to install its app and register their bank card.

Can I switch app later?

Yes, as long as you can export your customer list. Customers will need to add the new card by scanning your new QR code; display it at the till for a few weeks.
